Episode 4

Why it is so Difficult to Hear the Truth

Why it is so Difficult to Hear the Truth

Remember the Divine, by staying at the heart area. If we listen to it with our minds, then what does mind do? Because mind is always connected with the world. When mind listens to it, the mind thinks that it’s being said to the whole world, it’s being told to the whole world, the game is lost.

Nothing entered within, we did not let that enter into us, but the way to listen to the statements of the truth, is not through the mind please, it’s directly through the heart.

Whatever we listen through the heart, only that enters into us. Only that enters into our consciousness, only then, we can achieve a lasting peace.

If we listen through the mind, we may feel that we have listened, but it was not listened. That’s why we will be pulled back into the same old world of illusion of our thoughts, and we would fall back into the space of worries, anger, anxiety, fears, all that.

People listen to the statements of the truth with their minds and minds judge that, mind does not believe anything.

So, the truth is not to be heard with mind, it is to be drunk directly with the heart.

When we were humming yesterday, the sacred word, while staying at the heart, we were making ourselves capable of listening to Him.

Innumerable life times, you have been coming and going, you never became peaceful, you never came home, that’s why this is happening to you.

The mind, the thinking consciousness, keeps us having regrets, wounds of yesterday, fears of tomorrow, this mind is not my friend. He is a very low being, very low being.

We must recognise this please first, that I am not happy with myself.

Ever since I stopped looking towards You, oh my beloved Creator, the life has become angry with me, it's punishing me, through keeping me in thinking.

This must be understood very clearly, that HKL is not something to talk about, that we should become humble, and kind and loving. How do we become humble? No, that would be acting, and we can become so expert in acting, that we would move even further from our true self. We should have a very clear understanding about humility.

Mind can never become humble. Mind is ego. Pride. Our heart is humble. Until we learn to live while staying at the heart, we can never become humble, it’s not something to talk about, it is something to experience, that this is who I am.

That ill-way, which keeps us in worries, and mind is so deeply conditioned that nothing new it’s open to listen.

I was saying that this daughter of mine, who is from Switzerland, she works in Dubai and she travels. Five weeks ago, she wrote to me and she said that ‘I want to serve God, I want to serve humanity, but I don’t know what’s the best way to serve humanity.’

I said, ‘just do the weekly commitment of HKL. Just for four weeks, so that you can see yourself. Every day, you practise that, and then send me the report of the week that you did practise and how the week was.’

She promised me. I said ‘after four weeks, if you don’t see any change in you, then leave it, then there is no point in doing it.’ The day before yesterday, I received this report from her, for the fifth week. She writes:

Dear Baba Ji

I send you again my weekly feedback of my daily commitments to peace, humility, kindness and love. This week feels so uplifting and wonderful for me.

I am attending a Kirtan here in Switzerland and I found out that the singing opens my heart so much. I find that singing opens my heart so much. I feel gratitude, I feel love, I feel kindness. I am humble now. Wherever I see, I see through humility, kindness and love.

I am surrounded by the most beautiful souls, by great examples of high living. That these people who do Kirtan and sing, they are great examples of high living. I observe my heart, my whole being, it's dancing in joy and I am feeling very, very present.

What a wonderful week. How lucky I am. How fortunate it is. Now, Baba Ji, I am talking about HKL to whomsoever I meet. Thank you so much.

I ask all my western children, sons and daughters, please, our mind will not let us, but without practising, nothing will change in us. Nothing will change in us, we will remain in the same old ways and believing that ‘I am grown up, I know everything, this practise is for those who don’t know, but I know everything.’ So, mind… mind is not our friend.
